18-year-old critically injured in I-90 crash

Issaquah accident

A teenager was injured today when she lost control of her vehicle, which veered across the interstate and slammed into a truck.  All eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 were closed between Issaquah and Preston while the driver was removed from her vehicle and investigators examined the accident scene. The interstate was reopened at 2 p.m. Traffic was directed onto alternate routes, including Highlands Drive to Highway 202 and local streets in Issaquah.

First responders who arrived at the scene of the accident found the woman trapped in her red Toyota Camry. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.

Some witnesses reported that a third vehicle may have cut off the young woman’s Toyota, causing her to lose control. The driver of that vehicle has not been located. The Washington State Patrol is asking anyone who has information about the accident to contact Detective Haake at 425-401-7717.
